My first was a PC SD-9 steel 69xx frame and a 4 1/4" barrel slide. Only 179 built by the Performance Center in the early 1990s
Got two FrankinSmith "6915"s; 6906 frames matted to 915 uppers [single sided safety and full hammer]. 12+1, spare mags are 15rd 59xx mags with +2 adaptors. Your gun with a "fatter butt"!
I Built one and bought the other off of Squidsix here!
I also have a Sig C3 "1911"; 6+1 .45acp with a 4.25" barrel/slide
Here's a Frankenpistol .45ACP CCO I put together on an RIA compact stainless steel frame with a Black Nitride treated Les Baer Comanche slide and a stainless steel 4-1/4" Ed Brown barrel:
It's a bit hefty, though. So, I followed up with a factory built aluminum frame version in 9mm:
The 1911s tend to shoot with a bit more precision. But, for carrying around, I prefer the DA/SA S&Ws:
I "made" a CCO from RIA parts. Started with a factory 45 ACP CS gun and bought slide, barrel etc for a MS RIA. It went together with very little fitting. Will try to find a pic.....
