I bought two in the last few months. I had the opportunity to buy two others since. they're out there. Did you prepay for it at your Local gun shop? If so that s your problem. Now they got your money and don't care.
Sometimes it's luck of the draw and other times it's how friendly your LGS is with their distributor (and dealing with more than one distributor).
One of my LGSs has a long waiting list, while my other LGS only had one person ahead of me. Check out every local place that sells pistols (including pawn shops that have their FFL).
You guys will just have to wait. We, communists, in MA just got the Shield onto the approved gun list and need to fill our pipeline first. You'se guys all have had your first shot now we're up to bat. Play ball!!
They seem to be on shelves randomly here. All my friends have not waited more than a week in this area now. When they released I got my two in a matter of days luckily. Pick a radius you are willing to travel and start calling - you might get lucky!
They had them in stock at Cabelas in Kansas City the last time I was there. It gave me the opportunity to compare the Shield with Walther PPS side by side. It cost me a little more but I felt the build quality of the PPS was better. The Walther also fit my hand better. Have you had a chance to handle the Shield?
They are still in short supply. I lucked into 2 of them at the same shop in Houston by calling ahead and making sure I was on ther list when they came in. The last one I got, the LGS got 5 in one day and not a one of them hit the shelf. S&W is back to work so hopefully things will ease up shortly. Another shop got in 10 Glocks last week and the salesman told me he could have sold 30 of them if he had them. They were all spoken for when they arrived. All brands are hard to find right now and my bet is that will be the case at least until the election.
I got pretty lucky when I purchased my Shield. I called all the LGS in my area daily. Finally came across one, for a real good price. I have friends still waiting around for one.
I got lucky as well, the Shield just made our approved list and I walked into my LGS the morning after they got one. Price was high, $550 OTD, but that's life in California. I see them on Gunbroker going for $500+....
I have one and my compadres are still waiting.....not trying to sound callous, just happy to have one!
Their are 4 9mm Shields at the Shoot Straight in Casselberry Florida right now. They also have 2 Shields in .40 cal. Dont know if they will ship. Google them, And call.. .
Just waiting for my LEO dealer to get them in. Anyone know what the LEO price has been on average? The shop owner thought around $350, but she was not positive.
If anyone is still looking for Shields, "Shipton's Big R" store in Billings, Montana had several in stock as of Wed last week in both the 9mm and .40. Ordered mine by phone on Wed and had it in my hands at my FFL Dealer in Arkansas on Monday afternoon. Just call the number on their website and ask for Sporting Goods.
