A .38 Target Masterpiece

...a 1949 vintage K-38 would by the greatest of odds be expected to have the light barrel and narrow rib. The heavy barrel was commonly seen until 1950 or 51.

Seems like it was posted here once upon a time, the approximate S/N for the first K-38 'Heavy'. Off the top of my head, I wanna say it was around the K 75000 range, but don't ask me why I think that. Supposedly they first hit the market sometime in '49. What I can say for sure is that mine with the tapered barrel is in the K 43000's.

The change order for the Heavy Masterpiece was issued on August 19, 1948. The first K-38 Heavy Masterpiece bore serial number K66222. It shipped on February 4, 1949.
