A better way to prime?

all the primers spilled out onto the floor ... I put that tube thing away and placed the primers in a small steel dish ... next to the press
my thumb & forefinger would place a primer in the cup for seating ... they work perfectly ... and touching a primer with your fingers does NOT kill it ... Boy was that myth ever passed along as "truth" for years ... but it ain't so !

I now prime off my bench mounted big press with a Lee Hand Press and the Lee Ram-Prime unit that came with it ... think of it as a larger Hand Primer ... just all metal construction , no trays , no plastic parts to get wonky !

And there I was: looking on Midway for the LEE Ram Prime unit when the above reminded me that I ALREADY HAD THE ONE that came with the LEE Hand Press Kit!:rolleyes:

And it works just fine with the Ginex small pistol primers as well: the extra leverage makes seating tham a breeze!

P.S. If you remember to put the primer in with the ram up above the shellholder right before you put in the case, that is!:cool:

Another RCBS hand primer with the shell holders. First thing i took off the new RC years (decades?) ago was the priming attachment.
 
Sinclair or K&M hand priming tool. its not faster just better. Much easier to adjust primer depth than anything on the market.
 
I use a new Bench M ounted priming tool. Got it for 30 bucks at a yard sale still in the box unused. Gave my old one to a friend.(they are slightly different). He thinks the darn thing is the best investment he's ever made. He uses it for all off Dillon machines as do I. I have a bunch of the old round Lee hand priming tools but I like the bench tool much better. Gotta collect all those Lee's and put 'em on ebay
 
I either prime on the press or use a Hornaday hand priming tool. The only disadvantage to the Hornaday is the need to use their shell holders. I wore out two Lee round tools and tossed their square one after two occasions of frustration.
