I was at one of my pusher's today just noseing around and noticed a used Charter Arm's Bulldog .44 SPL in stainless for $250.00. Looked new and asked the manager who took it in, if he knew who traded it, it was a regular customer whom traded it who had no trouble with it but dident like the recoil. Well with my famous restraint I took it home with me. Had one year's ago and liked it well enough and have speedloaders and holsters and such for it somewhere. It's no S&W but we will see how it works out!

A Bulldog was the first gun I could reasonably carry inside my waistband without a holster. Great grips! But it also recoiled enough that factory lead loads backed out. I had to reload if I wanted a five-shot revolver instead of four.

BullDog

They are great guns. I had several in the years past. Now I am waiting for the BullDog
45acp due out this fall (????).

Well here are the pic's. The goodyears that came on it were a bit too long to suit me. Out came the hack saw and off to the grinder. Had it out to the range today and it shoots quite well. The 180gr and 200gr loads shot a bit too low to suit me but the 240's were just right. The double action is nowhere as smooth as a S&W but it will serv well as is. Minute of bad guy, no problem! Thought I had a set of wood grips for one of these somewhere, but it is comfortable to shoot as is, and it's not a beauty queen that need's dressed up!

I generally dont leave home without a .44 snubby in my pocket.
I was looking for a bulldog when I got my taurus 445.
Its a good feeling knowing you have a big bore thumper close at hand.

Have owned two of the blue steel version over the years, never felt strongly to keep one, always found a trade I liked better.

Now what's this about a 45 ACP Bulldog? Tell me, tell me, tell me.

I have had mine since 1975 or so. A set of Pachmayrs tames the recoil very nicely.

When I saw the title, I thought you might have gotten a puppy.
