You're really a Cat Person when in addition to Cats in Residence, you have Visiting Cats.

Heres what happens when a pregnant stray shows up and you have no choice but to care for her.
Cassie, Patchs, Cooter, and Dewey.

We had a foul-tempered demon kitty for 20 years. She was raised by our first dog, and her last 10 years were spent with Sasha and Mack (rottXpit and Rott). Many a Saturday I woke up as a pet sandwich - a dog on either side, and a cat on my chest. Mack is not likely to have another kitty, because he is old and Booboo is poor with cats. However, one neighbor has a great cat whom we stop and pet; he lets Mack nose him.

Cats make really fine pets. Smart, amusing, and best of all, LOW MAINTENANCE. I love dogs too, but won't get one again until I'm retired.

Here's Tooney when she was a very young kitten ( October of last year)...we found her in a friends driveway when she was 8-9 days old and did the hand raise/feed every 4 hours thing..
She's turned into my best kitteh friend and she's charmed all of the dogs..even Merlin the Heathen!
Enjoy!

I'd like to add that these are some beautiful cats in this thread.

I don't own a cat, officially. The animal control officer says if I feed a cat, I own it. To the chagrin of my neighbors, I have four that come by in the evening every day. Two I knew as kittens. I leave enough dry food out for them and top it with a can of whitefish dinner. The first one to it gets the can. The rest have to eat the dry. I love those little things. I even get medicine from the vet and put it in the wet food when one gets injured in a fight. These four act like family. No one cat attacks the other if they get there at the same time. A big, orange tabby even lets the little ones eat first. As long as I live here, there will be food out each evening.

Here are our two.

First up is Lilly. She was our first and the first cat I ever liked. My wife had been bugging me to let her get a cat and I finally gave in more to get her to be quiet than anything. I ended up liking Lilly more than any of the dogs we have ever had, including Duke, who is pictured with Lilly. She is really prissy and you can tell that she runs the house.

Then comes Gracie. She is my cat. I got her after we had Lilly for a while. She is a BIG spaz- if anything startles her, she runs around the house like she is on fire. She also is the biggest klutz I've ever seen. She can be just standing and not moving and if it's possible for her to fall, she'll fall. She's my favorite and is the most "lovey".

Mocha was deserted by the neighbors when they divorced, so he adopted us. He basically lives indoors, but if he's been in the garage for what he must feel is a little too long, I guess he feels like he needs a little "lap time" to compensate.

That's so sad, what a cute cat! Was it that tainted food from China?

About 4 years ago, I took in a stray which was in pretty bad shape. He had a frostbitten ear and either kicked or hit by a car, which ended up rearranging his intestines.

I never owned a cat, well here we are 4 years later and PIG, that's his name, is doing great and has become my great pal. You know something, this guy can actually read my mind I swear.

I think you should head to the animal shelter and maybe save one. I know he won't replace Fritz, but in time, you will think of this post.
Allow me to introduce The Pig
