I'm sure the rest of you do this too. Hit the local Gun/Pawn shops while on vacation. You never know what you'll find or how the prices compare to where you're from.

Recently, I was 4 hours away in a mountain town in my home State enjoying the cooler weather for a few days. After a few dud shops, I walked into one that was huge. As big as some of the best shops I've ever been in and a better selection than most. I couldn't believe this place was in a mountain town, and not in some major metropolitan area.

After seeing a few guns I wanted with below average prices, I picked-up these two that were on my short list. I was literally looking at both of these guns on-line a week before our trip.

This is a photo engraved and than hand cased Uberti Cattleman. It has fire blue screws. These are probably the nicest "over the counter" engraved Italian guns. It was barely used with the original box. Priced at $739, I got it for $649.

I let this one pass after buying the Uberti, but quickly went back to the shop and picked it up too. You rarely see Colts in the wild. Let alone at a good price. I figured if I waited a day, it would be gone (it had only been out a few days). This one was new in the box. Priced at $1,599, I got it for $1,539.

My angel of a wife approved these purchases. Knowing that when we got home, something in my safe of less desire would have to be sold to afford these. Needless to say, it was an excellent trip.

Is that Colt a recent production.?
At that price it would have to be.
Great finds all the way

As far as I know it is. Came in the plastic box, not the 3 piece.
