Back when I was a kid our local hardware store was a Puma dealer and had a display. They were the “Randall” knife to me—the virtually unobtainable dream knife. $17.95 to me for a White Hunter might has well have been $17 million.

Like I saw posted on here recently—“back in the good ‘ol days, I was flat broke!”

Back in the 60s, the White Hunter cost $17.95 IIRC. I thought it was the coolest looking knife around. Still do. Problem was, I didn't have the $. Guess it costs a few bucks more now...

That White Hunter recently cost $381.00, plus shipping from the UK. Yeah, the prices have gone up. :D

I have a puma don't know what model it's a large bowie style knife with brass guard and pommel and a leather sheath. Problem is it's busted in half where the blade meets the guard. It's put away somewhere or I would take a picture.

Fine collection of Pumas! Dream knives of us "mighty white hunters" way back in the mid sixities. Managed to get the Skinner back in 1967. Paid $25 for it at a department store that had a sporting goods section. Half my paycheck back then for a 16 year old. Luckily one of the few items I held onto all these years.
