CSX-E Series lighten the trigger pull.

Just got this pistol today and put about 160 round through it straight out of the store. Ran fine, used all 3 mags. But I find the trigger pull a bit stiff. I am use to 1911/2011 triggers that are around the 2.5lb mark. Looking to lower the pull on the CSX to somewhere around 3, 3.25. Have a BG 2.0 that has a measured 3lb pull and love it. Now I want the CSX-E around the same.
How to do that?

A 2.5 pound trigger pull in the M1911 platform can actually be dangerous, the danger being the sear having insufficient pressure and can bounce during recoil and allow the pistol to fire as a full automatic. 3.5 pounds is generally considered the lightest, safe trigger pull for the 1911.

You can try a lighter sear spring, that will usually result in a lighter trigger pull, but before doing that, I'd recommend a good cleaning and proper lubrication of your new pistol before doing anything. There may be some debris from manufacturing still present and the lubricant applied at the factory may be intended more for corrosion resistance than lubrication. Once cleaned and lubricated, put 500 rounds through your new pistol, then reevaluate the need for any trigger work.

But I was waiting for one of these replies about pull weight on a 1911. Proper sear & hammer cuts allow even lower safe trigger pull weight on all 1911 pistols. That is a proven fact.
But I am not talking about the pull weight on a 1911. I am asking about the S&W CSX-E series single action pistol. I wish it was just like a 1911 but it isn't and I find the pull weight a little heavy for my liking, @ 5lb, so that is why I asked.

Oops, my mistake. I say the "E" and was thinking of the S&W E-series of 1911's. Still, give your pistol a good cleaning and proper lubrication, run about 500 rounds through it, then evaluate it for any need for trigger work.
