I found this old gun at a yard sale. My cousin Moose was in the army and knows all about guns an stuff. He says he can cut the barrel off and put on one of those laser scopes to make it real tactical. He said he can paint it to. The wooden handles are all coerced up, so I’m gonna throw them out and get some of those black rubber ones that I see on the inner web. I seen a holster at Walmart that I think will fit good.

Now, before you folks lose your collective minds, I’M KIDDING!

According to the book, this is a pre-27 dating to 1953. I acquired it from my cousin’s estate. I don’t believe the case is original, and it’s not in great shape. I’ve fired it some, and it is truly buttery smooth. At some point a trigger shoe was added, and the factory stocks were changed. I believe the stocks are by Alvin White, and date to the same time frame. I assume they are quite valuable in and of themselves.

Thought the group might appreciate it.

You don't want those old scratched up grips with illegal ivory inserts. Throw'em in a fire and get you some Pachmayr rubber grips.
While we're kidding.
Congrats on a great find.

You had me there for a minute. I would suggest that before you do anything else you send for a SWHF letter. I'd like to see more photos of the front sight and the presentation case. The grips are simply awesome!

I think I've met Moose! :D

Hopefully Doc44 will see this and give an opinion on the grips. Based on what I see, I agree that they look like Alvin White's work, but I'm no expert. NICE FIND!!

I have corresponded with DOC44 already, and he's the one that suggested they were Alvin White's work.

I hadn't really considered lettering it, but now I'm intrigued. The black SAT tool is pretty neat as well.
