I searched the threads here for the suitable place to ask this but I figure this way it might get noticed. I get the impression the 3 sizes of .452 Swift A-Frames are not too popular in the .460 S&W. They're among my favorite rifle bullet and would be my first choice for hunting/bear defense in a .460. Is there a reason people DON'T like them?

I think the reason you don't see them is Price combined with availabilty, I have never seen them stocked in a retail establishment.
The "A frame" revolver .452 bullet comes in 265, 300, and 325 grain versions that are very suitable but are very pricey compared to the more common Horandy offering.
A 325 grain make a very potent combination out of the 460.
Currently I use the non expanding Barnes Buster in this wieght.
When you get some of the Swifts loaded give us a report.

Will do. Price wise, there seems to be only penny's per bullet difference. And considering the number of rounds fired to get familiar with P.O.I., etc., it makes no sense NOT to use the best bullet possible in situations where it will make a difference. For plinking a few hundred rounds, I'd use .45 L. C.

I have not had any performance issue with the Speer, Hornady, or the Barnes and have yet to aquire/shoot any of the A-Frames.
For those that hunt I would agree in choosing the best performing bullet possible- the cost difference is the least expensive part of the hunt.
For punching paper cost is a big factor for most shooters.
After your post I went to a local shop - they wanted $67 box of 50= I passed and ordered some from Swift to test. Hope we can compare notes in the near future.
Requested load data from Swift also, will probably test load with H110, A9, LilGun, and N110.
Plan on tesing all 3 wieghts on paper with 7.5", 10.5", 12", and Ruger #1 guns. Test them on pigs in the field in July.

Oops, I stand corrected. Must've mis read Midways site when I was looking. I'll still work up a load for them (I was planning on the 300gr.), but at over a buck a pop, there won't be a lot of practice with them. I don't have the gun yet, and when I do, all loads will be with H 110 till I can find any other suitable powder for sale. Up here, (Alaska) all the shelves are bare in the stores. Thanks for the info and I'll post results, hopefully on game.

FYI My Swifts arrived yesterday.
They are a little longer than the Speer and Hornady counter parts.
Test plan is to load each brand in new Starline cases using WLR primers. The Speer and Hornady will be seated to an OAL of 2.165 and the Swift to an OAL of 2.175. This will allow equal case fill for each brand.
Will be loading in 2 grain increments, spread from near max level for each of 3 powders, H110, H4227, and Lil'Gun, example 36, 38, 40 for Lil"Gun, 40 being near max.
I will be testing all loads from a 12" PC S&W; additionly I will collect velocity from the the from the near max load from an 8 3/8" and 10.5 " barrels also.
Targets will be shoot at 50 yards for grouping comparison and position compared from my gun sighted for 200 FTX Hornady factory ammo.
