A German dagger

I picked this up along with a 97% 1917 S&W Army marked revolver.I think its correct and it's a second issued German air force WWII dagger. Now I have one German dagger and two 97% Army revolvers. I paid $100 for the dagger and $400 for the revolver.

Looks good to me. The hangers are worth $100 easy. The Luftwaffe dagger. . .at least five bills. I haven't bought one in nearly ten years, but they are not cheap. Price on the revolver (without being able to see any markings or SN) was low too.

Darn good score especially on the dagger english!! Usually go for a lot more in good condition. Extra nice having a Luft dagger as most I see are army. Thanks for showing and glad ya got a super deal.

The Luftwaffe dagger would sell in the $450 to $600 range. I believe the piece to fix the hanger problem can be obtained from Johnson Militaria. Nice finds!

I've got my granddad 's dagger just like that. Took it to show and tell back in 5th grade ( 1980) and my teacher had a fit, even more when she found out it was issued to him.

Thanks also vrichard for showing your blades. These Third Reich daggers, firearms, and other militaria are solid investments right now. For what the OP paid for that Luft dagger is amazing.

I found a 1917 S&W at a pawn shop for $400, but it was rusted and nowhere near as nice as yours. Good find!
