A Little Help Needed

Public buildings seem to be where the real boss crooks hang out, like elected and appointed officials and lawyers and such. Can't be too careful when you're in such places.

Firearms in the courtroom

I recall in the 60's and 70's testifying in court and being told by the judge that firearms we're not allowed to be carried by police officers because it might seem "intimidating" to the jury or others in the court. Even the court officer wasn't armed. Then a new judge came in and asked the obvious. "If the police are not allowed the carry a weapon, and no-one else is, what will prevent someone from sneaking a gun in? And who will then defend us?" All officers started carrying after that. And that was before metal detectors.

I live in Waterloo and they just pushed through a ban in all city buildings and parks. This sucks because I like to walk my dog in the park by my house.

That's going be a pricey law... metal detectors and security staffing at every entrance for every public building. Or are the authors of this law relying on the criminal and psychopath honor system?
