Ok, prices are up for everything but while JM marked lever actions are high what makes one worth $10k? Maybe the scope from Belarus?

I don't get it! Please explain this madness to me. I guess I don't know the true value of a vintage Marlin 336 because I would have guessed $1500 would have been too high.

Well I bought this one a couple of years ago as is with the scope, JM marked, etc, in .35 Remington for $500 and felt that was about the market at the time. But I am cheap and worked hard for my money.:p

If I'd have sold it for $1,500, I'd have had to kiss the buyer. I'm confused as well.

Typical GB seller I noted, says it's all sighted in and then unfired in his opinion. I dont count bore sighted as if they even did that. Maybe they are paying in USPS money orders from Nigeria. If it is legit, good for the seller.
All it takes is a couple people with more money than brains.

If you look at that bidders past purchases you'll realize it was totally legit. This was not his most expensive purchase by a long shot. I started watching this item at 5k then Sunday morning it went to 10 k.

It may be a case of a shill bid with a purpose. To artificially inflate price, then dumping your own on the market when people are used to the higher prices. I saw this happen to WW 2 knives. It was common to find WW 2 Mark 2 knives at pawn shops and antique stores for $50. Then they listed and shill bided them to a $1,000 on auction sites and gun shows. When everybody started listing theirs, prices dropped dramatically. However, the market stabilized at double what they were purchased for in the pawn shops shortly before.
