At 3:10 this afternoon it was officially 110 actual. 117 heat index in Helotes,Tx. I think this may be a new record for warm; however, our humidity was down to 22% which means we merely bake instead of broil. :) We are getting Arizona/Nevada/Mohave Desert weather. However, as someone else mentioned hurricanes just bounce off these heat domes.

Now that is a tad warm for central Texas! We have land up in Blanco that we were thinking of building on for retirement but are now rethinking that, as much as we love Texas we are starting to look hard at Southwest Utah, we know that we would have to get used to Winter again, we are both from Virginia. That is the nice thing about South East Texas, mild three week Winter, most of the time

The humidity was so low I didn't sweat.
Yea you did, it just crystallized

104 here about 350 miles northwest of Helotes.

PS: I remember when Helotes was a little town in the country. Now it's basically connected to San Antone. 16 was always one of my favorite drives, but the traffic has become a bit irksome.
