In the early part of the last century Marlin ran a promotion where if you bought a block of stock you received a non-production firearm. In this case a lever action 410.

So here is the promo. You buy a block of S&W stock, say 1500 or 2000 shares, and agree to keep it for one year. In exchange at the end of the year you get a certificate for one free copy of the original Registered Magnum, no lock of course, and registered to you.

How would this benefit S&W? Propping up a company's stock price doesn't affect its bottom line - it's the other way around.

Also, I would guess it would cost $2000-3000 for the Performance Center to reproduce the Registered Mag.

Instead of all the complication, how about S&W just say: "We will build a run of registered mags in one year. The price is $_____. If you want one, send in your downpayment and your FFL by (date)." That way, customers can "put their money where their mouths are."
