A Pair of Austin PD Heavy Duties

Congratulations, Larry! It is right and fitting that the two most scarce APD Heavy Duties ended up with the King of APD's. I'm pleased that you and Dave were able to get together. There is always something almost surreal when guns that once were together but separated for years, once again find themselves rejoined.

Re: The Grips. My Austin PD # 145 showed up with beautiful smooth rosewood presentation target grips. It was refinished at the factory in Dec. 1966.

Bob, you are correct, I had to pass that on to Larry as he would not let go his. Are you saying that you still have a APD HD? If so expect a phone call as soon as he reads your post.

Larry,
Very nice. The 6.5 inch barrels were put on when they went back for refinish and there is another with #6 and # 25 which are 4 inch guns. They will letter as 4" APD guns.
Hope this helps
Bill

Yes, Dave, I still have one. Larry has already "coon fingered" it when he talked me out of another one. He knows it's his when it ever leaves. (Just to be sure, I scratched his initials on the frame with an old rusty piece of barb wire.)

Congratulations on your new APD HD. I can't believe that Junction and Tulsa are having gun shows the same weekend. Obviously, no one consulted me as to scheduling. Hope to see ya'll in Brownwood later in the month.

austinjeane,

I grew up in B'wood but only get back there for funerals occasionally. Haven't been to a gun show there in years but I'd like to try to make it. When is the next one and where?

Bob

Mr. Jeane....we were in Brownwood this past weekend, we missed you there.

Bob, if you are interested in the Brownwood show, they only have it twice a year, the next one will be in November. I will get you the exact dates, we would love to have you sitting behind our tables.

Larry

Thanks for the offer, Larry. I'd love to make it if I can.

Bob

I'm just hoping my partner will let me have his. The picture I posted of it was with a flash which did not do the gun justice. It really does look good. He is in no hurry to sell but has no attachment to it either, sooo, time will tell. He knows I like that stuff. I also covet his three digit Colt SP1 (NIB).
