I recently traded some work and a little dough with a forum member for a nice Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman. This rig for a 4" Colt Python was the trade part of our deal. As I was going along dying a few different belts edges I got about 3/4ths of the way finished dying this belts edges brown and accidentally dipped my dauber in the black dye on the table, by the time I caught my mistake it was to late. After emailing Sam with updated photos I asked if he wanted me to precede as is or start over. He not only told me to go ahead with it, but to finish it as I see fit. I used a black antique and am quite happy with the results of my mistake :D

This is quite possibly my favorite rig to date, guess every dog has his day.

Thanks Iggy. I agree, like the color combo so much I think I'm going to make myself a Plain's style ammo belt and holster in it. Funny how mistakes can turn out.

It looks great! Those kind of mistakes I like! :)

You and me both! Some end up costing me :)

That looks great. I still wouldn't wear black shoes with it. :D

To each his own ;)

The black really gives the carving depth. Aren't mistakes wonderful?

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Love it. That's the exact look I've wanted.

Well now you know where to find it

Wow! That looks really nice. Like Iggy said, I think you are onto something right there.

It's no Sheridan carved masterpiece, but it's the best I can do! Thank you for the compliments.

that IS beautiful!!!!

Thank you!

Thank you...I'll be drooling over this one long after it leaves my hands.
