A question on Turniquets for any of the first responders here.

Well, thank you! My screen needed wiped down anyhow! Beer works just fine.
Years ago I used to get nose bleeds fairly often; usually once a month or so I could count on one. This was up till I hit 21-22 or so. My dad told Mom to put a tourniquet around my neck; if I didn't want that I had to go down to the blood bank and make a buck.
Okay, the part from "My dad..." till the end of the sentence was a lie, but some burnouts I knew believed that would work.
The last time I had a cpr/1st aid class said pretty much what was said above. Loss of limb trumps loss of (bleed out) life, but now days if you're in a civilized area one can pretty much be saved. The guys who can't make it in the auto mechanic trade end up in med school.
Edit: I forgot. For a sliced jugular you just "Put a thumb in it."

Thanks to you all for your replies!

Like I said, I hope I NEVER have to use one. Honestly, the fire/EMS station is literally just a quarter mile from my workplace so ANY of my training might never be needed....at least on the jobsite...I hope.
