I recently purchased a set of night sights from XS Sights for my CSX. They had a 20% off promotion so it was a good time to pick the sight up.

The factory sights on the CSX popped off without issue. I tested the XS sights...the rear would need a sight pusher as I expected...the front sight blade slid right on through the factory dovetail without resistance!

I contacted XS Sights through their tech service. Here's the reply I received...

Greetings,

This can be prevented by following the Loctite step in the installation instructions, which will help secure it in place.

I'm supposed to trust that Loctite will hold the sight on? Even on the installation video it shows the front sight being tapped into place before running a bit of Loctite along the edges. I can't see this front sight blade staying in place with anything less than welding it.

It's going back to XS for a refund. No more of their products for me.

Was this the original CSX or the CSX e series? I have the later and have thought about replacement sights. Sorry to hear of your trouble with the XS sights, wouldn't have expected that.

Any after market sight change will require Loctite to secure it on CSX and most all handguns that do not have a screw in site and even then you still need Loctite on the bottom of the sight and the screw if it has one.

I can see that if the sight is a true friction fit. This sights simply slides easily from one side of the dovetail out the other side without resistance. I don’t believe Loctite will hold it for any length of time.

You may or may not want to try this method but It has worked for me on occasion.
Take a center punch and make several evenly placed pricks punch marks on the bottom side of the sight.
Dope up the bottom of the sight with permanent LocTite and center the sight on the slide.
When it gets dry you should be good to go.
Cheers

Previously I replaced the sights on my CSX (original version) with XS DXT2 Big Dot Night Sights.

I documented the issues I had, as did others, with that change in the thread shown below, which were different than the OP's.
.

There has to be some manufacturing variances in either/both the slide and/or the sights. I bought and installed the XS Orange Big Dot Night Sights on my gen 1 CSX and I had to fit both the front and rear sights to my slide (both front & rear sights were slightly oversized for my slide dovetails). I did initially install the front sight too far to the left and had to move it back to the right which loosened it in the dovetail and allowed the sight to move when I shot the pistol at the range for zero before applying the Loctite they provided. I re-zero'd the front sight where I needed at the range, marked the slide/sight with pencil marks and took it home and secured it with the Loctite. The front sight has not moved since.
I have grown to really like these sights for what this pistol is made for, up close flash sight picture, press trigger.
