A real Diplomatic Security Model 19 ( That isn't)

Not what is known as a DSS Model 19 in the collector community , but this is the Model-19 my father carried when he was in DS (~83-01) . The DS M19 is a 2.5" barrel , but agents were able purchase their own to carry . My father prefered the 4" barrel . This was his service firearm from about 83 until they switched to the Sig228 in the early 90s .

Nice! I was lucky enough to stumble across an "official" one about ten years ago. Serial number is in the right range, it's got the matte finish, black sights, and the medium wide trigger. It's one of the more interesting pieces in my 19/66 2.5" collection. I need to shoot it one of these days.
