My husband (big and tall) tried out an electrically adjustable chair at City Furniture in the Wellington Mall that he said was comfortable and the price was comparatively low. Don't know the name.

I have owned a big and tall Lane recliner made by Heritage Home Group, LLC for over a year now. My larger and taller than me younger brother has been using one for probably three years. They are available with cloth covering or in leather. His is cloth, mine is leather. They are not widely available but a Google search should turn up a dealer.

I am just barely tall enough to place my feet on the floor with the chair in it's upright position. The seat is actually wider than my butt. The suspension under the upholstery has been magnificent on both chairs, and the reclining mechanism has held up very well during these periods of time of pretty heavy use. The cost was plenty but not exhorbitant. The chair has few bells and whistles beyond very good materials used and very good construction to carry the load for a long while. The only other thing present is a lever on the right side to assist with reclining or un-reclining. I can close the chair by pressing down on the leg/foot rest with both feet, but I have had no problem with the chair closing unless I intentionally do that. Based on our experience, this has been a very good expenditure of money and I expect to use this chair for a very long while. Best of all, it does not fit my wife at all so there is no competition for my recliner!

Just like trying on a handgun to see if it fits your hand and needs, you need to sit in one of these on a showroom floor to know for certain if it will work for you. I think you can google Lane recliners and find the information you need to see them in pictures and read about them. Good luck!

Lazy Boy .. have one 2 kids can set in comfortably .. wife bought it on sale and didn't realize how big it was till they delivered it .. foot stool part extends and is large enough for a man your size ..

Also its 17 years old now and still in great condition .. for that old .. arm material is getting a bit worn but no holes in the fabric .. but what can you expect after 17 years ??

The Beast Chair by Best Chairs Inc. out of Indiana is a great Big Man's Chair. I have sold them for years and they hold up well. Everything about them is built extra heavy duty . The scale is big ,I am 5'11'' and my feet do not touch the floor. I have also , in the past before they went belly up , sold Lane's big chair and they also were a decent chair but I have not carried them since they started back up. I do know that parts are hard to get for repairs from the new Lane.

Another thumbs up for LAZY BOY "Big Man" model.
I bought it 17 years ago and it's still working fine.
Had a few problems over the years, but the dealer always
came out and fixed it. No charge. I'm 6'3" 240# and there
is abundant room in it for me.

Had a button come off on my wife's and they came out and put it back on in just a matter of 2 minutes .. just had to schedule when someone was home ..

Seems they are always on sale ..

I go to auctions and pick mine up there, usually do not sell for much and you can try them out. Sometimes you have to let them sit outside for a while if the smell bad, borax and water will kill any insects that live in them and they sit just as well as a high ticket one. My last one and most favorite cost me $1.00.
