MY 1066 finally arrived from a forum member Tuesday.

I picked it up last night and will get to the range in the next couple of days.

Its just like the last one I had :D They just don't make them like that anymore. I picked up a 3rd mag from another forum member so I am all set with mags. I have a set of night sights ready to install. Hopefully I will get that done tomorrow.

I am sure most of you are aware that the postal service basically broken right now. It is delivering mail and packages but at extremely slow and very unpredictable speeds. Nevertheless with some patience, my money made it out to New Mexico and the SW 1066 made it to Ohio.

Thats a fine look gun sir...

I have a 1066 I basically got free with the purchase of a 1026... sent her to BMCM for a "Spa treatment" she needed some work, turned it into a Decocker only and some night sights and..... The absolute best Duty action trigger job I have ever felt on a DA/SA 3rd gen the DA pull is as smooth as butter.....

Oh I forgot to mention she will be headed back to BMCM for another makeover, keep an eye out for the up date...

Very nice gun sir!

So nice!!!! Congrats!

Thanks for sharing the photo and enjoy the 1066!

What's up with the X frame behind it?

The 4" SW500 is just hanging out there. Pay no attention the the Pachmeyers it's wearing. I was just testing out some different types of grips on X frames. They don't fit it correctly but I haven't put the Hogues back on it yet.

or..if you can believe it...that is just my other gun.:D

Well the SW1066 ran very well today with all colors of followers :D
The front sight is dark and I didn't fill it in with whitener because I am going to switch to night sights. That made my shots slow as it was hard to see the target and front sight quickly. Other than that it ran flawlessly. Shots were point of aim at 15 yards.

Another positive was the ammo availability at the range. They had a 3 box limit of 180 gr S&B FMJ for $23 a box of 50! I did by 3. That is pre pandemic pricing.

As a side note I also brought my Sig Sauer P220 Elite SS 10mm SAO. It's not really fair to compare them side by side. A SAO target pistol vs a DA/SA duty pistol The trigger on the Sig is exceptional. The trigger on the 1066 is very good.

I f you want more mags I was able to order whole mags or all the parts from Numrich a few months ago so now I have seven for my 1086 amd a case of Blazer 180 Grain from SG ammo and I'm set for awhile LOL!

I bought one of the BarSto barrels for my 1006 . My 1006 has the adjustable sights and it's still shooting like a dream . It says there may be some fitting required , but I'm guessing it goes deeper than that . I guess I'll have to contact BMCM and see when I can send it off .

He could do quite a forum post about it, from what I understand the feed ramp needed to be shortened as well because the way the camming lugs are designed compared to the OEM barrels the barrel unlocks further back and will smash into the magazine if it's not fitted completely. Found that out the hard way when I took it out to the range and my mag was jammed right into the gun after a few rounds.
