A simple PC system?

Get a iPad user who knowledgeable and comfortable to guide you.
Using mine right sitting on the throne. Probably TMI.
Love the voice input.
But mostly use one fat finger typing.

Is there a simple computer system?
My wife and I are 90+ years of age. We are in constant odds and distressed with our computers. Our son set us up with our PCs. My PC, is a DELL desk top, using the next to the latest Windows version, operating system, and is about 5 yrs old. My wife's PC is an HP Laptop mod.17by 3613dx, that's about 6 months old. We really should quit using our PCs, but it's one of the few hobbies that we have left.

How do other old poops on this forum handle this problem?

I buy from a small local computer shop.

They can handle a situation like yours (I have the same difficulties) and they can advise you on what to buy.

They appreciate my business and are willing to help me with simple questions over the phone any time.

If you can find a good local shop like this your problems will be over and you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of your computers.

I summonsed the last of my tolerance today, and spent most of 5 hours fighting with my hateful PC, searching for a viable method to compose a post, to post on this forum without losing it, and found that one of, an unwanted, unasked for, spelling/grammar editing program, was the culprit. As a result of my extensive research, and findings, my permanent cure wasn't needed or applied.

Update

My computer system, is back on my permanent cure list! It or someone, has devised a new aggravation.; A couple of days ago, while waiting for the time to watch TV for the evening, it or someone, not in our home, turned the TV system on. Neither the wife, nor I, were holding or touching our control units. How was that possible? The next day, under the same circumstances, while watching TV, the system turned itself off, and I've been unable to turn it on since. Possible? Our son and guru, is on a trip, 1500 miles away, and unavailable for help. My permanent cure, does seem quite possible.

Confession time

I'll confess, I've been trying to fool myself into believing that I could get along without this despicable PC. I get countless hours of aggravation as well as about an equal t amount of enjoyment. It seems to balance out. I suppose that I'll just have to make the best of it.

Please excuse my blather on the matter.
