A strange Twilight Zone style thought about “The Searchers” and “Red River”

Long ago when watching one of those films for the 100th time I had a weird thought. What if this happened. It's post Civil War and John Wayne and Jeffrey Hunter are traveling through Texas searching for Natalie Wood. Say they see a massive cattle herd in the distance and of course approach them for food, coffee, and information. But what if that herd is the one going north in Red River, also post war, and John Wayne encountered himself from that movie?! And would the Red River guys be in black and white and they are in color? Or do I just have too much time on my hands thinking of off the wall stuff?

Go ask Alice.

Do they both pass through Rio Bravo, Eldorado or Rio Lobo?
Good point. I didn't take it that far. Those movies were set a little later but John Wayne could have been hanging around those towns in the late 1860s to be encountered by "The Searchers" John Wayne.
Notice how I try to apply logic to all this.
