A very sad day for chocoholics!

As a former strawberry grower with a commercial market and you pick operation...the main question I have is ...Why would you ruin a good strawberry with chocolate...esp dark semi sweet chocolate?? I know bacon is the number 1 food group...but chocolate covered bacon is about on a par with just bacon...Also rasins and peanuts go pretty good with chocolate. As far as lead and cadmium in your chocolate...I wouldn't worry too much...probably even worse things in the strawberies you buy. Commercial berries these days are gas ripened fertilized horribly sprayed with herbicides insecticides and peed on by the beer and othe critters...so...don't you feel better now knowing where the REAL problems stem from??

Cadmium is a trace element used in maintaining reef aquariums, hey if it's good for the coral...

What, you have never heard of death by chocolate? My question is, what is in the Schnoz Berries and what do they really taste like?

Simple answer - Because we LOVE dark chocolate covered strawberries - lol! We don't care for the goopy, gooey type desserts such as covered with caramel, syrups, marshmallows, etc. Personally, the only dessert I eat is a small portion of strawberries and a tiny bit of whipped cream. If they are covered in dark chocolate, I don't use the whipped cream.

I no longer eat any other desserts like ice cream, cake, etc. Cut out all bread too. Lost 27 pounds in one year. This is not a diet for me - I changed my eating habits, hopefully permanently. I never really cared much for fried foods either so I did not have to cut them out as I don't normally indulge.

You must not have ever attended the "Plant City Strawberry Festival." They take fresh picked strawberries, some big as a baseball, and dip them in any kinda chocolate you want. Eat 'em whilst the "dip" is still warm. I haven't been in quite a few years but something you can't forget. Joe

I agree. Chocolate does not add to the flavor of a good strawberry, and a strawberry detracts from the flavor of a good chocolate, so what's the point?
The whole is less than the sum of its parts.
