Aarrrgh!!!!

I'm sure Taurus is glad to know they weren't the only ones who had issues with guns firing when dropped.

How many of you own a P320? How many of you have ever dropped a gun? 54 years and I've NEVER dropped one.

Waiting on my rebate of mags etc...wonder what next rebate is...seems like all gun mfg got something going on.

So has anyone gotten their rebates yet? :D

I sent mine in two days ago....do you think they've shipped it out to me yet?

I'm sure they are. Funny thing, but I don't see people lining up to bash Sig the way they bash Taurus.

I dropped one once.

Getting out of my vehicle, when I released my seatbelt it caught and unsnapped the retention strap on my holster and I didn't notice. Jumped out and turned to shut the door and my pistola hit the ground right at my feet.

You don't have to be a careless dolt or something for it to happen. Unexpected things are just that sometimes - unexpected.

Now we need a thread titled "Will you buy a P320 now that you know the will fire when dropped?" Unless there is one and I missed it. :)

I (like the rest of the human race) have unintentionally dropped more thngs than I could ever recall, including a pistol. It happens. Just because YOU never dropped a pistol, doesn't negate this issue.
A pre-model 10 revolver was dropped on the deck of a battleship in WWII, which caused a discharge that killed a sailor, which resulted in S&W installing the hammer block safety in their revolvers from then on. We all now take this safety for granted, and the vast majority feel it's a good idea.

(and speaking of that alleged SigP320 issue, I just stumbled across this on my favorite classified site, the Georgia Outdoors Trader...)

Page Not Found - Tactical Life Gun Magazine: Gun News and Gun Reviews

"Tactical-Life.com has confirmed that the Dallas Police Department’s suspension of use of the Sig Sauer P320 was based on a miscommunication of a non-existent defect.

A blog by the name of GunMagWarehouse.com erroneously reported that there had been a Dallas PD training incident involving Sig Sauer P320. Specifically, the blog stated that the pistol “discharged as a result of being dropped during training,” which was far from the truth.

“The Dallas Police Department has not tested the P320 and has had no issue with the P320,” Sig spokesman Jordan Hunter told Tactical-Life.

There was never a “defect” with the P320. The confusion stemmed from an out-of-date manual that was given to the Dallas Police Department’s new lieutenant, according to Hunter......"

As a data point - I'm spending the $100 Visa card I got for buying a Walther PPS. I sent in the Walther rebate form a week AFTER I sent in the $75 rebate form for my Shield, and the Visa card came yesterday. There's still no record of my submission on the Milano web site.

I'm sure the S&W rebate will come eventually. But seriously, why should it take months to process these things? Is it like one of the South Dakota bank devices that companies are reputed to use to get an extra few days of interest out of cash flow?

"No NEVER?" "Well, hardly ever!" I forgot the name of the musical.

Now can we get a comparative drop/hammer test comparing the SIG 320 and the Taurus Millennium Gen 2??

Why not just skip the small stuff and get right to the "best caliber" debate?

but there is no more best caliber debate since the FBI switched back to 9mm... that's obviously the best one right?

I mean if the FBI wants it then it must be the best!!:p

I submitted my rebate and basically forgot about it, only checking on it's status about once a week when I saw one of the many threads. It showed up in the system maybe a week ago. Sooner or later I'll get a check.

Enough about the S&W rebates! There must be a dozen threads about them.
It's coming!

Reading the M&P Pistols section these days is like watching The Brady Bunch reruns. Instead of "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!", we have "Rebate, Rebate, Rebate!". There needs to be a single rebate thread. If rebates become a permanent part of S&W's marketing, then there should be a rebate "sticky".

On the plus side, we aren't seeing many complaints about Shield RSAs now.
