Abbie Update 3/25/09***NEW INFO***

In the past hour things have gone from bad to Worse. Abbie is bleeding, pressure is dropping, her color is way off and things don't look good. Her numbers are way out of wack and very little seems to be going her way right now.
The cardio-thorasic (sp?) surgeon is at her bedside keeping her pressure up. Abbie is awake and her folks are at the bedside too. I am sure that she is terrified, and there is nothing I can do for her to alleviate those fears.
Yesterday the transplant team moved her up to the #1 spot on the list, but also let the parents know that this is not a great time of the year for organ donors. Usually it is in the summer months when there are watercraft accidents. Never realized that any time of the year was better than another for things like that.
If anything changes I will let you know.
Andrew's cards have begun to arrive and he realizes he is not alone.
***UPDATE II***
The medical staff got the bleeding stopped and after several transfusions her color is returning and she has the entire staff hovering over her watching every breaths she takes.
If there is any significant change I will post it asap.
Please continue the vigil.

Thom, I don't often post in your updates, but I have been praying for Abbie since you let us know about her situation. Thanks for keeping us updated. It can't be easy knowing your little girl is sick and there is nothing you can do about it but pray. I'm on my knees right beside you, brother.
 
I don't post every day but this brave little girl has not left my thoughts. I look for the update every time I log in. I am so sorry for the setback.

we pray that you might bless this child with re-newed health and that this burden be lifted from her and her family,

I guess there is a lot about life that I don't understand and especially when a child has to go through so much while BGs and politicians go free and healthy. We are continuing our prayers.
