About to buy a 66-3 2.5” barrel, please help

I have a 66-3 Buried in my Safe. It doesn't get shot much anymore, but I would never part with it. Some day I ought to find some nice grips for her.

One of my favorite revolvers, I went to the 66 after I sold my model 19. Great pictures guys!

Welcome to the forum, and you're making a good choice. I've owned a 2-1/2" Mod.66-3 since I bought it new in 1991. I carried it on duty for five years, before it got retired for my agency issued Sig. It's what I consider the perfect CC magnum, and that snubby 66 is my all time favorite revolver. Enjoy!

Hey again all, thank you for nice wishes and for supporting me to buy model 66. Here are some numbering and symbols of the gun inside the grip. Do you have any idea about what do they mean? Some looks ilke hand made...

@snw19_357, great info! Thanks so much... Yes, previous stocks were as you told. (Can be seen on the pics.) I called S&W customer service. They told its a model 66, which is a consistent info. Also the production date was Nov-1990. They are unable to provide SKU# because of privacy reasons.

@old_bear, yes it is light & small. I can carry concealed even riding a horse. :)) -will share some pics when i do-

@Metal Man, you are right not al models have serial number on yoke cut.

@double-dipper, here are some appetiser photos which seller guy shared and i took when testing the gun. Will share much more once i buy it ;)

Yep, these are the photos. Thank you...

The "BFPxxxx" on the butt frame is the unique serial number for this revolver.

The other numbers, such as '426' are simply assembly numbers which follow the revolver throughout the manufacturing process.

Thank you Metal Man. Do you think, is there any inconsistency about the Numbers?

I don't see anything unusual concerning the markings depicted in your photographs.

You've got a real nice revolver there!

Now, take it out and shoot it....we'd also like to hear about your experiences in a follow-up "range report"

Hi guys, i have bought it. And enjoying shooting, in live with her at the moment

Don't buy it! It will start an addiction..... soon you will be broke from buying every 66 you see. Stop while you can!

Truer words were never spoken - well, typed. I have every barrel length of Model 66 except the 3" and that's because they have escalated to prices exceeding my pay grade. Below is a photo of my family of 66s plus one of my 2-1/2" -4 in its Lobo holster and one of it when I bought it on GunBroker - for $416! That photo won't show for some reason but there is a link t it below the post.
