Academy: Norma 9mm 124gr, FMJ

The first I've heard of this brand was a couple Weeks ago in an Academy Sports email Ad.

Anyone have any info on it?
$20 is the lowest price I've seen on 50 round boxes of 124gr FMJ in quite a while.

Manufactured in Hungary bought a several hundred rounds 9mm 115 gr from Ammoseek and it cycles in my pistols no problem. LGS has Blazer Brass 9mm and Federal Syntec for $20

I bought 400 rounds of the Norma 124 gr. from Academy at the $19.99 price. All of it says "Made in Switzerland" on the box.

Norma is one of the better companies around today. I have shot their 124gr ammo and it was very accurate in my pistols. The bonus is the high quality Norma brass. If the ammo is only $20/50 rounds you should buy a bunch of it. I would bet new Norma 9mm brass would cost at least that much just for the brass alone. Norma brass is very expensive. I'm going to look that deal up, thank you.

Thanks for the info on Norma 9mm. In the past, I hadn't seen 124gr in the local (non-LGS) stores.

I can only speak to the .357 from Norma, which ran dirty, but shot fine in my revolver. I had a few failures to eject, but that was likely due to my poor form as a new gun owner. They shot well for the price though, just dirtied the gun up more than I like. For the price, that seems a fair compromise.

Norma has been around for a long time. Their brass is known for being some of the better brass out there for accuracy right along with Lapua. Surprised you have never heard of them.

Of course if you are not a reloader, that might explain why you haven't heard of them.

The started in Sweden in 1902.

I believe they made the very first 10mm cartridges sold in the use way back around 1983.
