As expected, once I ordered my 15-22 in MOE FDE now my son wants to add a few bits and pieces to his standard 15-22. Already have a PA Red Dot but would like to add a grip that can hold the batteries for his Red Dot. Also want to replace the bipod I got him with some sort of fore end grip. Straps would be nice as well. Looking for black or OD green. Any links to what we want in your replies are appreciated as my internet search ability is limited. Thanks.

I was thinking about a replacement grip and something on the fore end. And yes, a sling.

Magpul makes some hand grips that hold batteries. I also like the BCM hand grips, they will also hold batteries. I like the Magpul AFG or VFG for the forend grip.

So I'm lost on these Magpul vertical fore grips. The 15-22 I have on order is the Magpul FDE version but my son has the standard 15-22. Do I need to order the MVG for the FDE version and the RVG for his standard one? I wanted to be able to store stuff in the fore grip as well but not sure if either has a store compartment. More important for my son to have a storage compartment since he doesn't have the Magpul grip that I will have with storage. Darn I feel old trying to research stuff.

The MVG is only if you have the Magpul handguards. If you didn't do a handguard conversion, then you still have the stock picatinny rail, so it won't work.

The RVG would work for both of your rifles, but it doesn't have any sort of storage.

The only vertical grips I can personally vouch for are the Tangodowns. I am running one on my AR and it is great and come in different colors, lengths and mounting methods but they are pricey.

Other than that, CAA seems to be reasonably priced. I have never dealt with them before, but they seem to be reputable.Forend Grips | AR-15 | Gun Parts by Gun Make & Model

The good thing about the Magpul pistol grips with storage is that you can change out the bottom plug to accomodate different types of batteries... ie AA vs those disc types. https://store.magpul.com/category/43

Hoghunter, from one hunter to another, a small daypack solves all these issues of storage and keeps the rifle quick and light. If this is a range gun, throw some batteries and such in the range bag. If a field gun, a small pack carries batteries, extra magazine, water, snacks, etc.

So the MOE FDE version I have on order doesn't have Magpul hand guards? Look like if I want to go Magpul for both then I need to go RVG. I will check out the CAA as well. Thanks

The Magpul handguard is this one... It is my old set-up. I was running the MVG at the time. It screws to the underside of the lower handguard from the inside:
