I see the climate is right to mention my PCC. I'd been through quite a few Pistol Caliber Carbines. But finally found a keeper. I read that our military replaced the grease gun with the Swiss B&T with a straight blow back action. Then I discovered the 9mm Slovakian Stribog at 1/4 the price. I've had mine 2 years & highly recommend them. It is an ideal weapon for structure clearing (our troops use the B&T for that) It is a home defense carbine for me, 9" barrel, & collapsing tail hook brace. It does everything well - I enjoy shooting it.
To the other Extreme; about 20 years ago I bought a folding Romanian SAR-1 AK, & found the recoil to be light, due to semi-auto action. IT is accurate & never hiccuped in all that time. Liking the AK platform, 2 years ago I picked up a Romanian version of the SVD, a 7.62X54R PSL,Scoped Marksmans Rifle. I have enjoyed it tremendously, I am 78, have had a heart by-pass & a pacemaker - but the recoil isn't bad, It is a tack driver & a big loud thrill for me to shoot.
