Im getting sick of this ****. The ""propaganda-laced """""article""""" im trying to quote written by a "Francis" something or other--says in bold headlines, Cops are Black-booted Thugs.:mad:This is because of that shooting in Missouri. Also, stated that the ""author"" looked on the NRA site and said that the NRA supports black-booted thugs and didnt seem to report anything about that shooting. I havent looked on the NRA site-so I dont knok what if anything is mentioned?

I wonder if we can start somekind of a class-action lawsuit against bloomberg ""news"" for slander or flat out lying and or inciting rage.

To Admin-Mods--please delete thread if its been too troublesome? It wasnt meant to be. best regards--TRK.

So are they suggesting that criminals don't ever wear black boots?

I wonder - is that writer also opposed to average citizens owning guns? - because if that is the case and we should be afraid of the police overstepping their bounds, what are we supposed to do about it after we have all been disarmed?

The NRA site also doesn't mention the virtues if eating broccoli. I guess the idiot who wrote that article now thinks the NRA doesn't think people should eat broccoli. And if we checked the National Tupperware Association website they probably don't have anything about "jack booted thugs" either, which is just as relevant as the NRA not getting into it.

Back in my day, I wore Wellingtons, with a heavier sole and heel. They were easy to put on. Comfortable to wear. Since they were a "boot". I could go thru mud, water, or anything. Not to bad even to stand on cement for a given amount of time.

We also wore black leather "Police" jackets.

But I sure wasn't a so called "Jack Boot" wearing cop or thug..:)

"Jack boots" are associated with the German and Russian troops circa WWII. It is reprehensible to link them to American LEO's. We have all known cops that were picked on in school so they got a badge to get even; but their number is thankfully small. We need our cops. They walk a tense, nerve wracking line every day. They bring order. To label them as Nazi thugs is an affront before God. No matter what your experience with the police has been, support them, thank them and above all, respect them. I honestly don't think I could do their job every day. They deserve better than this callous insult. I, having never been in law enforcement, would happily stand and be counted with them. Thank you.

The piece in question is clearly labeled as an opinion piece, not a news article. And OP, it doesn't say what you think it says.

I know its an opinion piece. What I was impying by even mentioning it in the first place--was the current "fad" of the news or so-called news--to lable the Police as the bad guys no matter what happens? Also, this is akin to todays "history" teachers telling their students that folks like George Washington, Ethan Allan, Patrick Henry, Paul Revere-etc-were terrorist thugs.

Mods--please delete or close the thread.

If the mods OK it I'd like to see that rap sheet. I heard he didn't have a rap sheet and had never been in a fight.

As long as it fits within the Rules.

Just a reminder to all we're not going to drift into racial stuff. I've already deleted a couple posts. No more.

In 1960 I lived in Chicago. A tornado went down 87th st (4 lane main street) and destroyed many businesses. I lived a half a mile away. Looters from across town started in "shopping". Mayor Daley the first called for National Guard assistance and pretty soon there was a Jeep with a MG mounted on every corner. A few looters were shot and the rest went home. I seem to remember similar treatment of the Watts rioters.
The current crop of rioters live by the "end justifies the means" credo with a big dose of "the man owes me some major appliances" and the time be now. How does a civilized society deal with that mind set.

Many moons ago a man named Parker from the LAPD once stated, " when the lootin' starts, the shootin' starts ". I'm not advocating such a solution, however, when businesses are being burned and looted, burning bottles filled with fuel are being thrown at officers, and shots are being fired at them it is time to use ALL implements available to you to quell such activities. I really do not understand why folks do not get that.

In my vain attempt to keep this on target. As for the Bloomberg News article, ya just gotta consider the source, and the fact they don't cater to the main stream Internet new reader.
The Bloomberg editorial staff has to keep their core audience happy or they will soon be out of work.

I did not realize that the NRA was a news or editorial outlet either.

Well, I expected nothing more from Bloomin' after getting thumped in this election. Shows what people think of his "brilliant" ideas including the "Big Gulp" law that got the axe. Now, he has reverted to his fall back strategy - name calling.
What a piece of work.....:D
