Has anyone here used ACF-50 to remove or loosen light surface rust on a blued S&W revolver?

MSDS makes it seem that ACF-50 is mainly nothing more than a light lube oil diluted slightly with mineral spirits. And that is all that is shown on the MSDS. Pretty expensive for a light machine oil.
Virtually any light machine oil like 3-in-1, etc., with copper or brass wool will scour off any light surface rust safely. Do not use steel wool or copper plated steel wool. Look for "Chore Boy" at your supermarket or Walmart. Brand: Chore Boy
