I had my smith (old school) do a trigger job on my new 340 and it feels really great. But while talking with him afterward, he tells me he cut 2 coils off the main and 1 coil of the rebound springs. I've fired the gun and it does go boom. But i'm not happy about the spring cutting instead of using lighter springs.

I've ordered the Wolf shooters pack and will install those when they arive.

1) This guy seems to know what he's doing, should I even be worried about this?

2) The shooters paks come with 13,14, and 15 lb. rebound springs, which should I use?

Naturally I'd like to use the 13 lb.

Thoughts? Sugestions?

I've done action jobs both ways, cutting springs or replaceing them, I prefer the replacement method (along with polishing the parts inside of course). Either method works but I think a longer but lighter spring is slightly smoother. If your smith did good work why do anything else? Evidently he did what you paid him to.
