add clock to computer

I have a dell inspiron 15 5000 series computer. It used to have a small clock in lower right corner of the task bar. yesterday it just disappeared. can anyone tell , me how to get it back? tks.

I'd try right clicking on the desktop and check the options. Maybe under personalize.

Are you running Windows 10?

If so, right-click on a free area of the taskbar and then select Properties. Then click on the "Notifications Area" tab.

Then, check the "Clock" option in Taskbar and Start Menu Properties and click OK.

Right click on taskbar. Select taskbar settings. Scroll down to turn system icons on or off. Click that and set Clock to On.

Assuming Windows 10 here.

Have you rebooted? AKA, turn the machine off and then on?

I right clicked, went to settings, notifications, show icons. it showed clock on. turned clock off. shut restarted computer. went to clock turned it on. BINGO. thanks guys.

Windows 10 is such a PITA. Every time they send out monthly updates (and especially the twice-yearly version upgrades) something that is built into the system is changed or broken. I hate it. And I work as a one-man I.T. department in my job, so these kinds of things are always cropping up.

I'm back on 7 Home Premium. I was never really happy with 10.
