Ok-i'm an addict!! What happens when you "think" you have all you want and there does'nt appear to be any "deals" out there? Do you continue the hunt or lay back and be satisfied? I feel I have all I want but there's always the feeling that there is something out there calling my name. Is this normal?

When I started down the firearms hobby, I told myself that I only wanted a modern pistol, one shotgun and one rifle. Then I discovered Curios and Relics firearms, and revolvers, and 1911's.
With a hunting rifle and 9mm, the next best thing is a .22 LR versions.
For the .22LR rifles, there is bolt action and tube feed and semi auto.
So, the collection could grow quickly.

I'm scared, real scared. A friend wants to sell me a sweet RCMP Colt 1917, my first Colt. Where will this take me, more Colts? And eventually homeless with no teeth, with open sores, oozing festering boils, living in a sewer, fighting giant rats and unwanted toilet alligators for a piece of every partially decomposed body dumped by a serial killer? Is that the future I want for my mama's little boy? Look in the mirror and ask yourself, is that what I want punk? Do I feel lucky punk? Are you talking to me? You must be talking to me!

Sorry. I went to a very dark place just then. Where is my meat helmet?

When I started, I wanted a 1911 blued wood grips and a military surplus good condition m1 garand. No interest in plastic pistols, open to the idea of revolvers, didn't care for an ar15, and a 22 was going to happen on impulse anyway so I didn't make an opinion.

The man that said the hunt never ends, it just changes direction is definitely correct.

The thing that happened to me is I realized there's a thousand guns that are great and wonderful that I'd absolutely love to have, but I don't know about them yet. At each gun show, I find another one. There's one in the magazine at the gas station. They're talking about another on the forum. I didn't know what a j frame was, didn't care for them, had no idea what a bug out gun or get home bag was until I got on the forum.

Bottom line, when you immerse yourself in the world of guns, you find another one of those thousands of great and wonderful guns. To not have any interest for another gun means not knowing about other guns and not looking and not being in places that might show you your next love. I can't do that.

Normal? Probably not but I'm like you, there is always one more thing out there that I have to have, whether I know it or not and I'm still hunting for it.
Someone once said that "the hunt is more satisfying than the acquisistion."
The race ain't over cuz I'm still running.

Rent a table at the local gunshow. Buy, sell or trade is the way we free state accumulators do it. I collect old revolvers out of love and I collect bargains out of loving of the game. :)
