I've got a 6906 with a difficult to see front sight. The blade is fine but I'm tired of repainting the dot. Novak doesn't list a gold bead front sight for a 3rd gen so I thought I'd try to source a bead on my own and adhere it myself. Does anyone have any experience doing this? If so, where did you find the bead?
Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Have you tried contacting Novak and see if they can do that for you?

I'm not really a fan of beads at all but.....

About a year ago I fitted a peep rear sight to my Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm. It shot high even with the rear sight at it's lowest point so I recently had a gunsmith silver solder a length of brass welding rod on top of the sight.

It really stands out (except against a buff coloured target). On steel plates out to 35 yards I just look through the rear peep, place the bead on the plate and squeeze the trigger.

Not so good for fine accuracy but fast. And if I ever remove the rear sight element I can have the bead removed easily.

Is your front sight the correct height?

I have added a McGivern bead by drilling a hole in the appropriate spot and swaging a gold rod into place. Shape it with needle files to finish. A square bead can be done the same way.

I bought one from sdmfabricating.com. I removed the sight, drilled a hole in it and used JB weld to secure it.
