Adjusting trigger pull in S&W pocket revolvers

I do not know whether there is a significant difference between current J-frame .38 Special revolvers and now classic same. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I may comment.

Regarding the latter, I believe that there is no need to replace parts. I have used many J-frame revolvers, far more than a dozen. Clean and lubed, their trigger pulls have been far better than adequate. Austin Behlert improved one of my M37 revolvers. The others have been improved by no more than cleaning and lubing with RIG +P Stainless Steel lube, and not all of them with that.

My experience has been that all of these J-frame revolvers have had adequate DA trigger pulls, and most of them superb SA trigger pulls. Regarding SA, the 40s and 42s were exceptions.

As noted by jcelect in post #30 above, the perception or usefulness of trigger pull has a lot to do with the grips. The grips may well be more important than minor differences in trigger pull. Like, what do you pull a trigger with? Is not the position of the trigger finger important?

So the lost tourist asks the policeman how to get to Carnegie Hall. He might as well have asked him how to shoot J-frame revolvers DA (or SA, for that matter).

Yes. As much as one may practice, single action with these will be a problem. LOL!

Seriously, my limited experience has been the DA on those revolvers is excellent. Perhaps for the reasons you state.
