Does anyone have any experience with accidental discharges with S&W standard DA/SA or DAO guns--not Sigmas or the M&P.

I was just wondering, seems I never hear of them or have never heard of them in the past--just trying to get some comparison to Glcok ADs, or so called ADs...

I believe a fair amount of problems with the Glock (and Sigma) are due to having to pull the trigger in order to field strip. A round left in the chamber will go bang. More people get shot with "unloaded" firearms than the loaded kind.
Other problems are due to the lack of a safety. Careless holstering with a finger on the trigger will also cause it to go bang.

The 5906 was built with a magazine safety at the request of police departments. One line of reasoning is an officer can drop the mag if a perp got a hold of the gun, thereby disabling it. The mag safety can also prevent NDs on an improperly cleared gun.
