A friend brought me a model 34 that the cylinder would not rotate when the trigger was pulled. Took the gun apart and found that the spring that hold the hand in place had broken. Ordered the spring and the fun begins, the pin that holds the spring in place is less than 1/16 size. Luckly the pin was not rusted or seized so I used push pin to drive the pin out. The fun part was keeping the spring in place while inserting the pin but after several trys finally got the job done. I hope to never have to replace that spring again.

Toyman,

Jerry Miculek describes that particular evolution as "kind of a three handed job!"
Way to persevere, adapt and overcome.

A difficult Job without the right tools...

I use a loop of dental floss to old back the end of the spring while I position the hand... works slick as a weasel.

The hand torsion spring can be a booger to deal with. Sebago Son's idea really works well.

S&W revolvers have the tool made underneth the side plate, ready for that purpose!

Funny, the book calls it a hammer block....
