I won a gunbroker auction and won a 945-1 that has very light scratches or handling marks and looks test fired if any.Its a stunning gun with the wilson combat rear sight. What irks me is that he lied or was mistaken about the pc case. what I received was a plain jane plastic box with the words "performance center" in white lettering that was done with a stencil. The value is easily there and i wouldnt unwind the deal .My pistol is RSA3583 and has wilson combat rear sights and both the slide and the frame are tu tone in that there is sliver and black areas on the slide and as well on the frame
but i hate when people misrepresent things. Any thoughts or comments is more than appreciated. Here was the ads wording

You are bidding on a used S&W P/C 945-1. This 45 ACP pistol is in good overall condition. The S&W P/C firearms are some of the most accurate and well built firearms out there. This one comes with 2 magazines and the P/C box. Thanks for looking. Inventory # G-31506-1

Post a pic of the box and ask if anyone here can verify. It may be a new thing. I haven't bought a new PC since 2008, so can't confirm or deny. Good luck.

Mine is close to the one you bought (70 guns later) and it came in this:

If it's any consolation, the case is pretty flimsy and is marked "Made in China".

Agree with the low key approach at first - tell him the wrong case was sent by mistake. If he won't make it right, tell him you will post Negative Feedback and contact GunBroker unless he does. Then please update here with his name and GunBroker user name.

I bought my 945-1 in 2007, it came from S&W in the box you see here factory sealed with the tamper evident tape.

No aluminum case, just the black "gun rug" with the embroidered PC logo.

GB AD SAID PC case but it wasnt

S&W Performance Center 945-1 : Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com

Above is a link to the auction. If the mods delete it, then i apologize if I am not supposed to disclose the auction

I will post a pic of the case by 6pm cst. My feeling is that any auction should complete with the correct items. NIB for example does not mean new gun in a new shoebox.
I did sell a pistol a while back and could not find the 6 dollar tool that was missing and the buyer was angry so i bought him a six dollar tool from midway. He said he felt he should get all that he paid for and i guess in principle he is correct. That was a six dollar tool. The pc box easily adds 100 dollars to the guns value

I agree to go low key to start, Is smith using a different box???? I did not see an aluminum case in the photos on the auction. Maybe he thought that was the correct box, WE/I are all ignorant of something. I agree that I would like the box, did you confirm with him what the box looked like?? It pays to be specific about specific things. Is the gun what you want in the condition stated? Is it worth sending the gun back and looking for another? Be Safe,

Haris,

Early models did come in a plastic case. Then after they had all kinds of problems with the chinese cases they shipped in the gun rugs.

I bought a 945 a few years back and it came in a gun rug. I called customer service and bitched about it and they sent me a case.

That wont help tou , but you get the idea.

The PC has been known to ship in all kinds of cases. Yours may just be original. A pic would help.

Bob

One of my early PC guns came in a blue plastic case circa 1996, and one of my late PC guns came in a tan PC case circa 2009. The ones in the middle all came in either embossed plain aluminum case, or ribbed case with applied medallion.

Late 2008 production on Chads. Did the case have a S&W label stuck to it? Any paperwork inside ? Could easily be an interum case. A dealer selling a used gun would have no idea, the same as we don't.

There is nothing wrong with your case. I have owned a PC gun that came in the same case and if you inquire "performance center" on GB right now, you will see a bunch of different cases of which many are plastic.

As a Retail Gunshop for the last 28 years I've purchased many NIB P/C guns and have had quite a few come in that exact plastic box. Not what you would think but the way it is.

I agree with most everyone else, buying a PC gun does not guarantee an aluminum case. It may be that the seller didn't even question it because there have been so many variations. I don't see where the ad was carefully worded to avoid the description, I guess a pic would have helped. I think it just is what it is. Enjoy the gun.

The seller did not stencil lettering on that case.
He would have to be an artist to do so.
You got a $1500. gun for $1100. The case is original.

Enjoy your new pistol!

Regards
Allen (tongue in cheek) Frame

I am not angry, i just have never seen a case like this and an earlier reply in this thread shows the metal case just 70 numbers away from my gun. And to you Allen-frame, thanks
so much for your kind words!! And to all forum members who posted here, I really thank all of you for your time and knowledge sharing
