Hello all,

Posted this in the new members board, but didn't get many (any) comments related to the actual pistol so I'm reposting here.

I've searched the forum as well as others and would still like to hear a bit more about the Performance Center 327 2" barrel carry. I saw a used one in a store for 900 (they agreed that they will sell it for 850) and it was love at first site.

I'm 5'9" 140 lbs, so basically, a small frame dude. I wear fairly slim fitting clothes and am wondering how this beast would serve me as a CCW. I wear at 4 o'clock IWB and my current carry piece is a Kahr mk9 for comparison.

I love the look of this thing as well as the carryable firepower, but is this going to be one of those pieces that I regret buying after wearing for a few days due to comfort and concealability?

Brett ... The 327 is a large framed revolver with 8 rounds in the cylinder. Based on your physical stature, an N-frame may be too big for you, especially if you're looking to go IWB. You'd be better suited to consider one of many J-frames for CCW. Virtually everyone here at some point has fallen in love with a particular firearm based on looks rather than practicality, only to have buyer's remorse later on. Find a revolver that fits your hand, physique, and personal needs best.

I agree with the above. I love my 8 shot N frames but even at six feet and 220 they are not easy to conceal well, and with slim fitting clothes you can pretty much forget about it. They are just too thick and too large framed, and the 2 in. barrel, for me at least, only makes the butt end of the gun flop around more than a 3 or 4 in. gun. That said, ten years and eighty pounds ago I carried a 4 in Mod. 28 every day for about a year, but that was with jeans and a loose, untucked t shirt. If you decide to give it a go, a good holster and belt will help you immeasurably.

Good luck,

Steve

I owned a snubbie 327PC that I liked quite a lot. It was never my regular CCW gun but I did carry it frequently when hiking in a nice high and tight Kramer OWB scabbard. It bulged a bit with a baggy t shirt over it for concealment but was VERY light and comfortable to carry and it was a good shooter. It was great in its specialized role as a hiking piece but I agree that there are probably better choices for every day CCW.

I'm 5'11 250 lbs I usually use this IWB holster with the 327

It show a little more than a J frame!
