I would like to hear the back story of how you got into this.
Good show--old boy !
Blessings

Also, how do you store and preserve them? Big humidor? Large warehouse, pasted on the walls? You own a old movie house, and display them in the lobby?

Inquiring mind wants to know!!!!!

I've seen everyone of those and like semperfi71 Bataan is my favorite WWll. Just watched it again the other day, it never gets old.

And as WuzzFuzz inquiring mind, I'd like to know also how you store and display them. You may have stated that in your other post's but you know how old people are they forget a lot of things.

Great collections you have.

Thanks a bunch! I saw a lot of those movies as a kid and still watch a lot of them.

"Bataan" was, and is, a favorite.

Quite welcome and both Bataan and Wake Island, are ultra difficult to find anything original of. These are the only originals ive seen since 2008.

man those images bring back lots of memories!

If I had the money? there was some other better stuff for sale I got first dibs on, but I couldnt justify $2,000 for a mint set of lobby cards for Sands of Iwo Jima. As much as I want them, I cant afford them.

It all started with when I was a kid and when I only collected movie posters. That started about 31 years ago. I had one heck of a poster collection but, back about 1996, someone broke into the house and pinched everything I had except for my Beatles Anthology poster which is now valued around $10,000. All those other posters combined would be worth less than $2,000. I still have that poster and are planning putting it up for auction at a Beatles auction.

Whats special about that poster, is that mine and one other--are the only two that exist. All the others were destroyed in 2005 early 2006. These posters of course, were the ones sent to ABC stations across the US, 67 were actually printed and distributed, then after the Anthology was aired, were supposed to be returned. Also, there are oodles of reprints for sale for the public market--same exact image, not the same quality.

Nothing so fancy. I store what fits into Mylar plastic sleeves, then in acid free boxes. Im poor and cant afford owning a movie house. Ive had a few museums from here in Texas and in two other states, that want me to donate the collection (which is not happening unless I die not having a family) or to loan my collection (which is doable) and even the Lexington Museum contacted me a few years ago on donating.

I never tire of those great movies either. Im always on the lookout for Bataan, Back To Bataan and Wake Island images--throw in Gung Ho images too, but I rarely find any originals--especially borderless originals--which are infinitely much more rare.

Just stored in Mylar sleeves in acid free cardboard boxes. I dont have the space to display any.

If anyone is interested in collecting these? I dont mind sharing sources since all of them offer so much of interest that I couldnt afford to buy them all, in a life time. Some of these you can actually get pretty cheap, but some will cost you.

I'll second that A10. That is some great stuff Ringo posted.

Thanks for sharing your other hobby with us Ringo.

Thank you as well Sir. I have to compensate somehow, for such a tiny gun collection. :D

Still very interesting collection.

From "55 Days At Peking":

Spoken as he attempts to romance the Ava Gardner a bit too soon in her mind so she says, "You don't waste much time do you?"

To which Charleton Heston replies, "I'm a Marine Ma'am, I don't have much time."

How I wish I had a "hold" of that line when I was a Marine!!!
