Anyone add either a Apex or Wilson or other Match Grade quality barrel to their Shield or M & P full size 4 1/4 " barrel?
Some barrels are true drop in others are semi drop in (need some filing) while after market barrels are pricy how much need accuracy improve ?

I can see adding an aftermarket barrel to a full size, but I doubt you need that extra precision in a Shield. Shields are plenty accurate enough to
place your rounds in a human size target as far as you need to.

I did buy an aftermarket barrel for my PC Shield .40, but not because I wanted more accuracy.
I bought a .40 to 9mm conversion barrel so I could shoot 9mm in the .40. It was a drop in, and had tighter lock up and tolerances than the factory barrel, but I couldn't really tell any improved accuracy.

I bought a Storm Lake on sale at Midway for my 5" Core Slide. I got one non ported. It dropped in and seems a bit tighter than my original 5" ported one.

Big diff is the rifling. The Storm Lake is 1:16 while the OEM in 1:10. I've only been out once with it but the 115s and 124s I shot seemed fine. Can't say I noticed it any more accurate but that's likely just me.

I bought a True Precision 9MM Shield barrel because it was the only one I found that was extended/threaded, not because I wanted more accuracy. It was drop in tight and did slightly improve accuracy. The price is fair for very good quality fit & finish.

Gents, sincere apologies for the off-topic question, but will any of the M&P (Shield or otherwise) barrels fit the 9mm EZ? It likes to have spare barrels for it’s few autos ...
