When ya got a lot of stuff:
My friend's husband setup his man-cave on the ground floor, with his reloading gear and bulk storage for shooting stuff. Their home came with an unfinished loft space off the 2nd floor that could be turned into a bonus room. It's been finished as a comfortable firearms and military reference library and war trophy room.

Awesome. I had my 1st floor set up that way but moved my mother in law in. Don't want to put anyone in a nursing home if at all possible not to.

That was pretty cool what you did. On a side note, I would not have wanted my MIL access to any firearms in my house.
bigwheelzip, your friend is an angel! That looks nice.

She's a doll. She and her husband had been shuffled around the globe for 30 years by the military, and when he retired, she wanted him to make the ideal "forever house" for himself, any house, anywhere, so that they wouldn't feel the need to move again.
Seven years into retirement at their "forever home" and they both seem very happy.

Much prettier than mine: http://smith-wessonforum.com/141070096-post30.html If mine looked like yours, my wife would be cleaning it all the time. As it is with mine she just closes the door. I am glad because I can find stuff after I put it down, not so when she cleans.
Yeah, his "Man-Cave" downstairs with the reloading bench looks more rustic than his loft.

I love it Bigwheelzip! But, please call it a Den. Man cave, Man loft, Man shack and so on sounds so, well, redneck tacky and typically they fit the bill? That's not tacky, that's really nice! I have a den at my house too.
