Does anyone now if this front sight is available aftermarket. Tried one out in store and really liked it. This is one the new performance center 686.

Don't know if they can be bought separately, I do know they break very easily. You would be better off with a fiber optic, which you can get in green, red or orange.

It looks like a standard Patridge design to me. Should be easy to find one and paint it orange.

You need to at least check out the SDM Fiber Optic. That's all I run on my S&W revolvers now. If you need your eyes to be drawn to the front sight, those are the one.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't setup notifications properly and need to make adjustments. I have SDM and factory fiber optic sights in both red and green as well as gold bead front sights. This one is definitely unique and as someone else pointed out might be more fragile than some. It does an exceptional job of gathering light though and gives a very nice sight picture. The model also came with a factory extended cylinder release.

It is one of the stranger looking Smith and Wesson revolvers I own but it is growing on me. Really decent trigger out of the box too. 9.25lbs and pretty smooth. Most of my competition guns have been worked down to 6-7lbs but I'm not in a rush to mess with this one quite yet.
