Hello guys, a friend is asking for age help on an old revolver left over from his recently passed father in law. It appears to be a nickel plated HE M&P, 6" with aftermarket grips. The hammer and trigger are color case hardened.

The serial number from the bottom of the grip frame is 527XXX, has the large head at the end of the ejector rod. I only have two pics to go from, it's a 5 screw frame. The ejector star is blue.

Here's the only pic I have that shows the whole gun, thanks very much for any help.

My guess would be late 1925 or very early 1926 but I also look forward to hearing other opinions.

Yes, late 1925 or early 1926 is the approximate time of shipment.

The 5" barrel was very common at that time. Nickel finish less common but not unusual. It is hard to say what the stocks are from that picture, but they might be original. The stock circle looks a bit odd, but it may just be the photograph.

I think the stocks are Jay Scott fake black pearl.
