Age is just a number!

Hey Sammi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
A big +1 Sammi.

My mom will be 90 this year. two years ago she fell at home and fractured her pelvis.

Almost always a bad thing for a woman of her age.

She agreed to spend some time in a nursing facility. Gave the social worker fits because she wouldn't take part in planned social activities and usually took her meals in her room - meals delivered by family and friends.

I asked my mom why even though I knew the answer. She said "I'm not like 'them.' My brain still functions and I'm able to manage my business. I'd feel absolutely stupid singing round the campfire. I'm getting out of here!"

She worked with the physical terrorists and did indeed go home. lives by herself but did agree to hire some help for the harder housework. She bought herself a new car and enjoys going out.

you wouldn't even know she broke her pelvis.

her secrect? associate with young people. NEVER LET YOURSELF FEEL OLD!

She's planning to make 100 and I think she'll just make it.

While visiting my kids in Calif. over Christmas I had the greatest compliment I've ever received. " Grandpa, you're like a living history book." Guess they talked to my other grandkids because when I visited them in Washington State they told me the same thing. Just because I remember the Depression, Pearl Harbor & D Day guess that makes me a book. LOL

Mr. Rumbaugh, that is pretty neat

Good for you!
My Grandpa was 44 when my Father was born. I did not have much of an opportunity to get to know my Grandpa or spend much time with him. The best thing is that Dad tells me that my Grandpa would have been proud.

I hang around with someone twenty-two years younger than myself - my wife! It does make you feel younger... until creaking joints make you want to move to a one-level garden home. Sadly, it's my young bride who suffers from degenerative and arthritic joints. You never know.

I need to remember that. My father died when I was 16 and my sister was 13. Our children often have questions about Grandpa Bob, which we happily answer. I'm quite sure that he would have been proud of them, and now I'll tell them that he is. Thank you Bean.

at 50 I thought I was old. At 60 I thought I was old. When I turn 70, I will think I am old. And if I live longer, I am old. Anyway, I am enjoying my life. BRING IT ON.
