Age of Model 1000M

Recently bought a Model 1000M, but I am having trouble trouble figuring out how old the gun is. the Serial # is FS69XXX.
Any info would be great.

The first mention I have found of the Magnum version of the 20 gauge Model 1000 is 1978 and they were discontinued in 1984 when S&W dropped their long gun line. I do not know where in that 6 year period your 1000M was made.

I believe the Model 1000 was made by HOWA; high quality stuff. My brother owned one for years. I'd say it should perform very well.
